Reima Size Chart

Reima outerwear is designed to allow room for growth and therefore includes approximately 2 3/8" (6 cm) of extra space, which means our sizes may run large. However, it is still recommended to buy the size that corresponds to your child's age.

Please note that to use the size chart, you must take your child's body measurements, not a garment's measurements.

A Complete Guide to Finding the Perfect Reima Size for Your Child

Navigating kids' clothing sizes can sometimes feel like a guessing game, especially when you are shopping online. If you find standard Reima size charts a bit confusing or hard to read, do not worry—you are definitely not alone! At Crocozebra, we want to make sure your little ones stay comfortable, warm, and ready for any outdoor adventure without the hassle of returns. That is why we have put together this detailed, easy-to-understand guide to help you choose the exact right Reima clothing size for your child.

The Reima Sizing Philosophy: Built-in Room to Grow

One of the most important things to know about Reima outerwear is that it is thoughtfully designed with growing children in mind. Reima jackets, Reima snowsuits, and Reima pants typically include about 2 3/8 inches (or 6 centimeters) of extra space built right into the design. Because of this generous room for growth, Reima sizes can sometimes feel like they run a bit large. However, we strongly recommend buying the size that currently corresponds to your child’s actual height and age. There is usually no need to size up just to ensure the jacket lasts the whole winter—Reima has already done that math for you! The clothes will fit nicely now, while leaving enough room for warm mid-layers and a season's worth of growing.

How to Measure Your Child Correctly

To get the most accurate fit, always measure your child’s actual body, not a garment they already own. Have them wear thin, form-fitting clothes while measuring, and use a soft, flexible measuring tape. Here is how to easily take the key body measurements listed in our charts:

  • Height (A): Have your child stand barefoot with their back against a straight wall. Measure straight from the floor up to the very top of their head. This is the single most crucial measurement for Reima sizing.
  • Chest (C): Measure under the arms, wrapping the tape around the fullest part of your child's chest. Make sure the tape is snug, but not too tight.
  • Waist (D): Find the natural waistline, which is usually just above the belly button. Measure around this point, allowing a little breathing room so it is comfortable.
  • Hips (E): Measure around the fullest part of your child's hips and bottom while they are standing naturally with their feet close together.
  • Shoulder + Arm (F): Start from the base of the neck, measure across the top of the shoulder, and continue down the outside of the arm to the wrist bone.
  • Inside Leg / Inseam (G): Measure from the very top of the inside leg (the crotch) straight down to the floor.
  • Outside Leg (H): Measure from the child's natural waistline down the outside of the leg to the floor.

Understanding Specific Reima Clothing Categories

  • Outerwear (Jackets, Pants, and Snowsuits): Our main outerwear charts are divided by age groups (0-5 Years and 6-14 Years). Simply match your child's height to the closest "Height (A)" in the chart. For example, if your 4-year-old is exactly 104 cm (40.9 inches) tall, the size 4T (EUR 104) is perfectly tailored for them.
  • Base Layers: Since base layers are meant to fit closer to the body to effectively trap heat and wick away moisture, they do not have the same bulky "room to grow" as snowsuits. Focus closely on matching the exact height and chest measurements here.
  • Hats and Beanies: To find the right hat size, measure your child's head circumference. Wrap the tape around the widest part of their head, just above the eyebrows and ears. Some of our beanies feature "Double Sizing" (like 48/50 cm), which offers a bit of stretch to comfortably accommodate a growing head.
  • Mittens and Gloves: Keeping little hands warm is vital! You will need to measure "Palm Height" (from the base of the palm near the wrist to the tip of the middle finger) and "Palm Girth" (wrap the tape around the widest part of the hand, excluding the thumb).
  • Socks and Footwear: Simply measure the foot length from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe. Always measure both feet, as one is often slightly larger than the other, and use the larger measurement to pick your size.

A Few Final Tips for Success

Remember that age ranges are just a helpful starting point. Every child grows at their own unique pace, so relying on actual measurements in inches or centimeters is always the safest bet.
