Reima outerwear is designed to allow room for growth and therefore includes approximately 2 3/8" (6 cm) of extra space, which means our sizes may run large. However, it is still recommended to buy the size that corresponds to your child's age.
Please note that to use the size chart, you must take your child's body measurements, not a garment's measurements.

The Reima Kiiruna solves the specific problem of freezing children on the ski slope. Parents know exactly what happens when wet snow sneaks inside a basic retail coat. The child starts crying immediately. You pack up your car and leave the resort early. Wet fabric transfers freezing air directly to bare skin. You need specialized outdoor equipment that physically blocks liquid water while pushing internal sweat outward. This specific winter shell handles that exact thermal balance. It keeps young skiers perfectly dry during intense storms. Dry skin stays warm naturally. Proper thermal regulation requires advanced material science. You get that technical performance without adding restrictive bulk.
Waterproof Technology Inside Reimas Kiiruna Shell
Heavy mountain snow contains massive amounts of liquid water. Kids roll directly in wet slush. Standard nylon absorbs that wetness rapidly. Designers built this shell using a hidden polyurethane membrane. Water drops cannot push through this solid physical barrier. The material blocks freezing wind entirely. Sweat vapor easily escapes from the inside simultaneously. This physical balance stops kids from feeling clammy after running hard. Technicians measure this exact water resistance using a strict hydrostatic head test. A vertical glass column of water presses down on the textile surface. The pressure increases steadily until a leak forms. This premium fabric easily withstands 12,000 millimeters of intense water pressure. Factory machines apply thermal tape over every single stitched seam. This manufacturing step permanently seals the tiny needle holes. Rain simply hits the outer shell and bounces off immediately. We highly recommend matching this jacket with our heavy kids' ski pants to complete your cold-weather defense system. A sealed foundation stops core heat from escaping.
Thermal Retention In The Kiiruna Coat From Reima
A waterproof shell does absolutely nothing if the internal insulation fails. Cheap winter coats rely on heavy layers of dense cotton to trap heat. That approach restricts natural joint movement entirely. A child fighting against stiff fabric exhausts their energy quickly. The engineers behind this product rely on 140 grams of high-performance Fellex insulation. This material mimics natural down feathers. It creates microscopic air pockets that trap body heat directly next to the skin. Modern synthetic insulation weighs almost nothing physically. Your child feels completely free to run and jump. This specific recycled polyester fill holds its original shape even if moisture manages to sneak inside. Traditional natural feathers clump terribly when wet. Clumped insulation loses its ability to retain heat completely. Your gear stays functional and ready for the very next day. Integrating this coat with our premium kids' thermal base layers creates a highly efficient temperature management system.
Smart Details Built Into The Kiiruna Ski Jacket By Reima
Dressing a squirming toddler often feels exactly like a high-intensity workout. Tight cuffs cause massive morning tantrums. Technicians fix these common annoyances by installing oversized zipper pulls. Small hands grab these large plastic pulls without asking for adult help. Smooth internal linings slide directly over thick sweaters. The jacket sleeves never bunch up tightly near the armpits. The factory includes several strict functional elements:
- Inner Lycra cuffs block wind from entering the sleeves.
- A dedicated ski pass pocket speeds up lift line entry.
- A snap-away snow lock seals the waist against deep powder.
You save serious money over multiple seasons when you invest in the Reima Kiiruna. The tough exterior fabric survives aggressive friction. Technicians run the raw textile through the Martindale abrasion test using rough sandpaper. The material survives over 30,000 mechanical cycles before showing any structural failure. Your child can drag their sleeves across frozen asphalt without tearing the protective outer shell. Dense reinforced materials handle rough playground abuse effortlessly. This extreme resilience directly justifies the initial financial investment. Handing this durable garment down to younger siblings works perfectly. The material repels heavy dirt chemically. Thick mud slides right off the treated surface. You skip the heavy machine wash and wipe the coat clean with a damp cloth. You spend fewer hours doing laundry and more time skiing. Prepare your family before the heavy snow falls. Protect your child completely with the Reima Kiiruna.
